Fassbind Lunch at Atelier


Essay from a special themed lunch service at Atelier Bistro & Bar accompanied by Fassbind spirits.

The Fassbind distillery was founded in 1846 by Gottfried Fassbind in Oberarth, in the heart of Switzerland. For these 170 years they dedicated themselves to distilling the very best Swiss fruit creating pure fruit spirits. This menu presents these unique spirits in the company of five gracefully matching courses prepared by Atelier.

Tasting Notes

Delicate and lively almond tones with a scent of cherry jam

Hint of dark chocolate mousse followed by white pepper

Harmonious cherries with marzipan

Elegant, long lasting finish

Note: Rigi Mountain sits beside Oberarth, home of Fassbind; known as “the queen of the maintains.” Rigi is a protected region (AOP) for cherries controlled by government

Fully ripe Williams pear with hints of candied fruit and hints of Créme Caramel

Aromas of applesauce and cinammon, vanilla cream, baked apple and apple strudel with raisins

Tasting notes

Matured for one year in a cask from Brazilian Wild Cherry wood, Umburana

Fresh, sweet and exotic nose with notes of dried pineapple, muscat, liquorice, marzipan, very fruity

Mouth feel like burnt sugar and caramel
