ST. PETER'S POOL

St. Peter’s Pool, Malta

A natural swimming pool set among the rocks with azure green waters around. It cuts into the shore right at the Delimara Point in the South East of Malta. The rocks around it are smooth and flat. Whitewashed and gently heat up by the sun, comfortable enough for a nap in between your dips. The “pool” forms a small cave beneath rocks and that creates great depth, which makes it also a great jumping spot. More lazy of us will be happy with their rock sun bed and cold beer in their hands.

How to get there?

There are no buses running to St.Peters Pool, but it’s possible to arrive by bus to Marsaxlokk or at the roundabout where Triq Delimara road begins, and from there, take a walk that will last a bit more than 25 minutes. The indication for St Peter’s Pool is located exactly at the chimney of Delimara power station, where there is a large car park, where you can park if you arrive by car.

To get there via public transport you need to get to the bus stop Abdosir. From here, you have to walk for about 30 minutes. Here is the route.

From Valletta or Floriana take the bus 81 that passes every 40 minutes. If coming from Sliema, St. Julians or Bugibba, it is always better to change in Valletta.

Important note: The beach has no service, so bring a lot of water and other things you might need.

Pictures are taken at the location right next to actual St.Peter Pool. On our way back.
